Happy Halloween!! Look at the happy pumpkin! He is a cheerful Jack-O-Lantern! (By the way, Cheers POS would like to endorse https://openclipart.org since we have been getting a lot of the images from there.)
Our Secretary tried the Blue Chair Bay Banana Rum Cream yesterday. One thing to note, that awesome yellow color -- is the bottle, not necessarily the drink (our secretary did not pour the 50 mL bottle she bought in a cup, but rather, drank it straight from the bottle). Have you ever had one of those weeks? Things have been good, but, busy.
Hey All!! Something to share! Please check out the photograph attached. 1. Note how it is incorrect (no alcohol unless you were born before today). ["But, Officer! This 17 year old is TOTALLY legit! Check out my electronic calendar! He's older than today!] 2. Did you know that the Cheers POS system has it so that you will not need one of these in your store? Check out cheerspos.com or call us (800.769.5890) for a free demo. ~Cheers!
We are now enthralled with Pinterest. We found this there.
Not going to tease you ("15 blew our minds!"), no, this is what caused us to share this:
1. Pumpkin Pie Jello Shots 8. Petri Dish Shots 15. DIY Pumpkin Keg 18. Wolf's Bite {It's a shot. It has Lucid absinthe (YES, WE KNOW IT'S NOT THE REAL THING). That's not a common ingredient and it stands out. We wanted to bring this to your attention.} 21. Roasted Marshmallow Kahlua Shots 30. Beer Cooler Pumpkin 31. Poppin' Strawberry Bellini {with Pop Rocks. WITH Pop Rocks.}
Yes, it is a buzzfeed link, but, we found it on Pinterest. Check us out on Pinterest and what we share there (though we will try to share here as well).
Hey All!! We just started our Pinterest account today!! We will be looking around and pinning anything we think you may enjoy (don't tell our boss -- we'll really just be looking at mixed drinks and sharing them). We have to get to know how to use this and get used to it, right? Check us out over there -- https://www.pinterest.com/cheerspos/ -- Cheers POS. ~Cheers!
Hey All!! Have you noticed? We made updates to our Blogger page this morning! This page is MUCH easier to read. Links are now in blue and everything has one solid background color. Perhaps we will make fun changes in the future, but, for right now, we will stick to the basics. ~Cheers!
We here at Cheers POS are really excited to share this with you today! A liquor store we know uses the TSP100 Star Printer and at least one worker there LOVES it!! We thought we would share this with you in case you are in the need for a receipt printer. (It works great with the Cheers Point of Sale System!)
What makes this printer so great is how easy it is to load the paper -- just drop it in, pull the paper through the only opening, close the door and go. So simple. It takes very little time, allowing the cashier to get back to ringing up customers.
From the Star Micronics TSP100 page:
<<Introducing the TSP100 futurePRNT, the first all-in-one receipt printer. Yes, all the parts and software are included in one box. To get you setup quickly, we’ve included an internal power supply, interface cable, power cable, complete mounting kits and a paper roll. To bring you the future of receipt printing now, we’re also including a full set of software utilities. Redesign your receipt without modifying your application. Add your logo. Add coupons. Preview receipts and enhance bar codes. Included operating system drivers allow for ‘Plug & Play’ automatic installation.>>
If your business is in need of a printer, please remember this post and get a Star TSP100. We are not getting any remuneration for this, but, we believe in this product and think that it would help others.
We could not pass this up and we could not pass on passing it along! This sounded way too fun (and after looking up rules and regulations for the past two days, we couldn't say, 'no,' to a cocktail recipe!). We hope this helps some of you out with a gathering (or an evening)!
Today on Facebook we Liked the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (http://www.nabca.org/) which came into existence in 1938, after prohibition. The NABCA represents the Control State Systems - jurisdictions that directly control the distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages within their borders. There are eighteen (18) control states (counting on the map on their page: http://www.nabca.org/States/States.aspx); Kansas is not one of them.
What does, "Control State," mean? According to the same page, "They control the sale of distilled spirits and, in some cases, wine through government agencies at the wholesale level. Thirteen of those jurisdiction also exercise control over retail sales for off-premises consumption; either through government-operated package stores or designated agents."
Please note that these states are all along the political board; the, "Control States," are both blue & red; one side is not monopolizing this; since we love looking for obvious answers and patterns, this surprised us.
What does the NABCA do? "Headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area, NABCA serves its members by providing research, analytics and alcohol regulatory information, and acts as liaison to federal, state and local governments, research groups, public health associations, the media and other organizations impacting alcohol policy." (http://www.nabca.org/page/about)
We have said it before and we will say it again: what are the alcohol laws regarding your state? It may be complicated. Check with your state.
We at Cheers POS are keeping up with current events regarding alcohol, point of sale systems, point of sale hardware, and politics. We wanted to share something with you all from a few months ago: Big Box Liquor Laws. These laws (last struck down May 15, 2015) would allow alcohol at 3.2% and higher to be sold at big box stores, such as WalMart & Dillons. Proponents of this bill say it gives more freedom to customers. Opponents of this bill say that it would force Mom & Pop Shops to compete with Big Box Stores, the later would then monopolize the liquor sales (not to mention not track patrons as well as those in the liquor stores do).
Here's what was noticed when reading the pros & cons about both sides. Those who are in favor of the Big Box Liquor Laws attack those who are not in favor of them. They whine about wine being not sold in grocery stores and except for using loaded words to describe those who present the other side, do not have a solid argument (we do not wish to link up to what was found, except for in The Topeka Journal. There is a group mentioned there who, if you want to research, you may).
I Liked the Kansas Association of Beverage Retailers on Facebook, today. I was looking for their mission statement but could not find one. They have a history page, but, the last half of it is devoted to select accomplishments they have achieved. Since I am so impressed with their work, I will share it here (but, click on the link to check out more of their, "History," page and their page in general).
"Over the years, there have been many changes in our business. In 1949, the Liquor Enforcement Tax was 2%; today we collect 8%. KABR continues to fight even higher increases.
For many years we could not sell chilled wine. Through the efforts of the Association, coolers were approved. Until 1972, we could not carry a customer’s purchases to their car. We fought for this change. Today, thanks to our efforts, we can be open election days, New Years Day, and can accept credit cards."
Did you see the link we shared from The Fridge Wholesale Liquor on our Facebook page yesterday? It was a video of how to make A Pumpkin Martini -- check it out!
Today, we here at Cheers POS are looking up liquor stores in Kansas on Facebook (a tough job, but, somebody's gotta do it!). If any particular stores impress us, we will link them to you here (hint: check out, https://www.facebook.com/TheFridgeLiquor)
Have you checked out the cheerspos.com website? Or the Cheers POS Facebook page? Give us a Like! We will return the favor!
Speaking of self promotion, we at cheerspos.com are working hard on getting this product out to you. We are receiving suggestions every day on how to make this product better. We cannot wait until we have all the bells and whistles being recommended fully implemented!
We will keep you all updated on the progress!

She is using the Cheers POS System in a liquor store and is finding out all the great things it does AND is making suggestions on how the system can be more practical. We want to make sure she is familiar with it so she can help you all with it!

Would you like to purchase more alcohol? Of course, we all do! We here at Cheers POS would like to make liquor point of sales, liquor store point of sales, liquor POS, and liquor store POS easier for all retailers and customers. The best advice we can offer: pay attention to your state's online sales -- "The Liquor Law Repeal and Enforcement Act, also referred to as the Webb-Kenyon Act, which the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) administers, prohibits shipments of alcohol beverages from one State into another State in violation of any law of the receiving State. 27 U.S.C.§122" (http://www.ttb.gov/publications/direct_shipping.shtml) Also from that same webpage, "... Congress enacted the 21st Amendment Enforcement Act that provided the States with a specific tool to address interstate shipments and transportation of alcohol beverages in violation of State law. Thus, contemporaneous with our enforcement policy pronouncement, Congress indicated its support for States to act in this enforcement area because they likely are in a better position to interpret and defend their own laws." But, it's a little more complex than that. Be sure to check out that webpage as well as the following for online purchasing, intra-state shipments, and inter-state shipments:
Short answer (from the website): The answer is yes, depending on the state you live in. You can order wine, spirits and beer online from retailers like Liquorama and have it shipped directly to your door. There are some states where purchasing alcohol online is restricted however, you can see those states HERE.
Our office called the KS Department of Revenue -- Alcohol Beverage Control to get a straight answer: Can I buy alcohol online in the State of Kansas? Waiting for the call back.

It's Columbus Day today! Three day weekend for some, but here at Cheers POS, we are working hard to perfect our already superior products. If you have the day off, enjoy it! Our secretary would like to recommend a product she tried last week at the Glazer's Distributor's Tasting: http://www.blancdebleu.com/ Blanc de Bleu. It is dry and bubbly. It has a very mild flavor and smells of blue berries.
If you do or do not have the day off today, please be kind and patient with all the bank and government workers (including United States Post Office) who go back to work tomorrow as they will be slammed with work and demands.
~Cheers!

Hey All!! Did you know the hours for most liquor stores in Kansas are from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday? Some, however, open at 9:00, and on Friday & Saturday, liquor stores in the State of Kansas can close as late as 11:00. Some liquor stores are allowed to be open on Sundays and some are in dry counties (and some choose to close to give employees a well deserved break!). Check out the laws governing alcohol in various counties in Kansas through the Kansas Department of Rvenue's Alcholic Beverage Control unit's website :http://www.ksrevenue.org/abc.html

I organized the office somewhat today. There is now a food and beverage station away from the work stations. The office pet, "Birdie," now has her cage on a table all to herself!
We have made a few calls today to perspective customers. Things are looking good!
We have found out that the headset (with all its bells and whistles) is AWESOME, but, will not work for us. We are going to remedy this so that I will be comfortable taking inbound calls and all callers will be able to hear me sans echo.
