Kansas' Big Box Liquor Law

Hey All!!

We at Cheers POS are keeping up with current events regarding alcohol, point of sale systems, point of sale hardware, and politics. We wanted to share something with you all from a few months ago: Big Box Liquor Laws. These laws (last struck down May 15, 2015) would allow alcohol at 3.2% and higher to be sold at big box stores, such as WalMart & Dillons. Proponents of this bill say it gives more freedom to customers. Opponents of this bill say that it would force Mom & Pop Shops to compete with Big Box Stores, the later would then monopolize the liquor sales (not to mention not track patrons as well as those in the liquor stores do).

Here's what was noticed when reading the pros & cons about both sides. Those who are in favor of the Big Box Liquor Laws attack those who are not in favor of them. They whine about wine being not sold in grocery stores and except for using loaded words to describe those who present the other side, do not have a solid argument (we do not wish to link up to what was found, except for in The Topeka Journal. There is a group mentioned there who, if you want to research, you may).
