Winter Solstice Post -- BOOZY CHRISTMAS COOKIES!!!

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Eggnog Cookies | Cooking Classy

We have been away for a while.

Our secretary has been ill (but, stayed home and has recovered nicely!), our bosses have been out of the office to get new cubicles and desks (in the office now, but, need to be put together), and there have been other happenings keeping us away from the computer.

But, we are back today, the first day of winter, the shortest day of the year (soon we will be able to see the sun again after 17:00!), on a shortened work week (Cheers POS will be closed Christmas Eve).

We feel we have been negligent, ergo, let us provide for you some recipes for some BOOZY CHRISTMAS COOKIES!!!

We did not click the links on this (the recipes are not on this page).  We were won over at, "Chocolate Chip Cookies with Tennessee Whiskey".  Also on this page, boozy frostings and icings!

Eggnog Cookies

All the above being posted, Christmas does not begin until 12/25.  We are still in the season of Advent, therefore, we may just have to post fun Christmas recipes until 01/06/16 (the Epiphany!).

Until then, we will continue to listen to our 90s Christmas Pandora station and keep you updated on the happenings at Cheers POS.

~Cheers!

We Promise This Wont Take Long

We are still working on our, "About Us," page.

Something to know about us -- we HATE having to read.  GET TO THE POINT!!  If you have a post or an article and are giving us information (including recipes), just get to it already.  We do not have the attention span or time to read a beginning paragraph(s) and more than likely, will scroll past and skip it.  IT IS FOR THIS REASON, Cheers POS will always try to get to the point right away, if not the first sentence, then the first paragraph.

We also will not click on click-bait.  We don't care, we wont share.  If somebody has information that they can only give us on their web-page, it is not that important and you don't really care about your reader.  If a person is sincere, the title will let you know what is going on.

Videos -- see above, if you have information, and it is really something you want your watchers to know (even if it is selling a product), first 30 seconds to two minutes.  If not, we do not care.

We hope this helps all our readers.  Please, spread the word.

~Cheers!

Everybody Else Has One

Keto Cinnamon Butter Cookies Recipe - Great recipe for the holidays. With only 2 net carbs these cookies are perfect for a low carb high fat diet. 14g fat.

Here at Cheers POS, we are working on our, "About Us," page.  It is challenging to come up with something short (to keep people's attention), be informative, be transparent, and also, remember, this is an opportunity for marketing as well (marketing our product through ourselves).  Generalities are incorporated, specifics are avoided.

We have been working on this at least half (maybe 3/4) of the time we have been in the office today.  We do not want to think about ourselves anymore.  We want to think about: COOKIES!!!!

We present this low-carb recipe.  Since it is low carb, it is high fat, please be aware of this.  We tempt you with a picture of the cookies.

Still No Cookie Recipes*

Which is a little bit disappointing, seeing as how we keep getting, "The BEST Sugar Cookie Recipe EVER," and such brought to our attention (if this could legitimately be in some keto / LCHF directory, THEN I would take note).

Anyway, we are doing much with Cheers POS.  We are adding new things for your information and simplifying things on the cash register side.

Keep checking to see these new updates.

In between your checking, have a look at this website for a little levity: http://www.bestinfographics.co/startups-are-they-worth-it-infographic/starting-a-startup-business-infographic/

~Cheers!

*Unless you count this one -- picture taken from http://addhumorandfaith.com/2010/12/21/a-traditional-christmas-treat-really-good-sugar-cookies/ which has a recipe to accompany the picture.

You Again?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/gregory-ciotti/10-ways-to-convert-more-c_b_6285632.html

It is a fairly steady Friday here at Cheers POS -- comfortably busy.

We have found (in between trying to set up some business arrangements, getting feedback on the Cheers POS System, internal office communications, and dealing with developing business circumstances as they occur) some GREAT links on Pinterest!!

We suggest you read all five if you are in business, marketing, or sales, but, we will cherry pick some good information from them:

1.  Talk about the other person (potential customer or customer).  We mean when you are with them, not behind their back.  Remember, "you," from yesterday?  Not only using the word, "You," and letting the other person talk, but, also talking with them about them.  Always focus on them.  Always.

2.  Provide bonuses in some way for the customer or potential customer.

3.  Use Authority -- Whether from experts or the majority.

4.  Do For Others -- Reciprocity goes a long way.  If you do for others, they will more likely do for you.

5.  EVERYBODY JUST READ THE FORBES ARTICLE!!!!!  We cannot stress that enough.  It has so much great information, much of it repeated elsewhere.

6.  Create an, "Us VS Them," not as the, "others," are bad, but, that your brand or product is better.

Some of these are repeated in different ways via the different links.  Please, check out all the links (we know it is a lot) to see all the different strategies.

Wouldn't YOU Like To Know?

Have you been checking out our Pinterest account?

We found this today:  http://www.bitrebels.com/business/top-32-power-words-infographic/  (We just saw the infographic on Pinterest.  We note now the paragraphs of VERBIAGE WE DO NOT CARE TO READ above it).  We recommend you just skip to the infographic.

The long story short, the most important, "Power Word," one can use?  YOU.  Alright, maybe not all capitalized, but, "you," is a great word for you to use when you are trying to sell...anything, really.

December 8 Review And Upcoming Blogs

Yesterday was a fairly laid back day here at Cheers POS.  The entire office was able to stop with the regular routine and go to a meeting for a few hours regarding sales strategies.  This included the entire sales department and even the secretary -- the entire office.

This was good, since we are a big believer in EVERYBODY in the company (whichever company) knowing sales.  It is good for everybody in your company to know about your product (including pricing AND the solutions it offers), be friendly (so customers will come back and buy from you again...and recommend others to you), be resilient ("No," is not personal), be persistent (offer other options if a potential customer or customer does not feel comfortable with your first option, perhaps, "No," will be the ultimate answer (at this time), but, at least you know you did what you could), be a human being and treat the other person as a human being (do not be a jerk, do not treat them as a sale).

Since we are a small company, we did a bit of role-playing.  In one scenario, one acted as a person who did not want a call back, but, would call us back when he wanted.

It went something like this:
-Hey, when is a good time to call you back?
--Let me give you a call back?
-Maybe I can call you back tomorrow morning.  Are you busy mornings or afternoons?
--Both, really.
-Okay, what is your e-mail?  I can shoot you an e-mail to confirm everything.
--I'm really not comfortable giving that out.
-Okay, what about a cell phone number?  I can text you.
--How about I give you a call?
-Well, tell you what, I can give you a call as a courtesy follow up in a few days.

The salesperson was persistent.  The other person was of the idea that it would be good to just let the potential customer give us a call back, rather than following up.  The salesperson showed ways to overcome this and not allowing this to happen.  The salesperson then explained to the other person how we lost at least one sale because of this mentality.

Not a good thing when one has gone to a store to meet with an interested owner, but, does not follow up.  We lost a sale by not following up and closing because somebody else went to Interested Owner's store, and closed (Interested Owner did not like his point of sales system and was looking for something else, but, we never followed up as we should have -- our bad).

That's what we did yesterday.  It was a nice break from our regular day-to-day job requirements and a slow, easy day.  (HOORAY!)

As far as upcoming posts, it is getting closer and closer to Christmas 2015.  As such, we keep getting recipes for Christmas (especially for cookies).  We may have to share these recipes.

We also keep finding Christmas drinks on Pinterest.

Sales Strategies/Dave Barry/Advent Drink

From theprovisionroom.com

If you try this, let us know how it is!

Who else has a cloud-based point of sale system / modern day cash register ONLY for liquor stores that runs an entire liquor store?!  It's a solution for. problems we know exist.

Did you see our Facebook post yesterday?  We linked up to the latest Dave Barry Holiday Gift Guide.  Since you need to have a Facebook account to see what we post as a Facebook account, here is the link: http://www.miamiherald.com/living/liv-columns-blogs/dave-barry/gift-guide/article47957150.html

The link directly above is for different cocktails (and mocktails) for each week of Advent.  This would be good to celebrate each of the four Sundays (Week 1, Week 2, Gaudete Sunday, and Week 4).  The photograph is from the same website.

Enjoy!!

If You Have Been Providing Your Small Business Wares For At Least One Year

http://www.softwareadvice.com/

Have you had your small business for at least one year?  Perhaps the above link can help you out.

Since Cheers POS is only a few months old, we are not able to do anything at this time with this, but, we thought we would include this link for those who may benefit from it.

Though Cheers POS is only a few months old, we are still the ONLY Cloud Based POS System for a liquor store and a modern cash register for a liquor store.

If you are a liquor store, check out our webpage, https://www.cheerspos.com/  If you are not a liquor store, but, know one, have them check out our webpage.

Smile & Stay A While!

Two things we would like to mention in today's post.

1.  Tomorrow, December 5, 2015 is the Anniversary of the Twenty-First Amendment -- the Amendment that Repealed the Eighteenth Amendment.  The Eighteenth Amendment made it illegal to purchase and transport alcohol.  Remember to purchase, transport, and enjoy alcohol tomorrow in order to celebrate your freedom!!  SUPPORT YOUR LIQUOR STORES!!

2.  Liquor Stores -- There is no retail business like them; they get busy on opposite days from other retail stores, that is, before the major winter holidays.  Others have to worry about Black Friday or Boxing Day (12/26, when after-Christmas sales are begun), not liquor stores; they have The Day Before Thanksgiving when things are hectic (getting alcohol to celebrate thanks?  getting it to deal with the next day's dinner (people?)?).  They have an all-hands-on-deck policy Christmas Eve as well.  Do other retail stores celebrate Mardi Gras?  LIQUOR STORES CAN CAPITALIZE THIS DAY!!!

As with all retail, theft can occur.  During the busy times, theft is opportune.

Which is why there are cameras in the liquor stores.

A man came into the liquor store next door on Tuesday and informed one of the people on duty that from the outside, people can see the worker's watching people inside the store on camera.

The worker's reply?

"GOOD!"

We cannot speak for all liquor stores, but, the liquor store next door to Cheers POS is not trying to hide anything.

What is it that people are trying to hide?

The liquor store has cameras so that we can find out the answer to this question.  They seek to know what is happening with the products for which they have paid (which they OWN), which clearly are a commodity, and so that they can keep the price down for all of the legitimate customers (if you steal, you are an illegitimate customer, because you are not a customer, but, a thief.  Even if you are to purchase something(s), if you do not purchase everything in your possession that belongs to the liquor store, you are a thief.  We could use a stronger term for the illegitimate customers, focusing on the illegitimate adjective, but, we'll let it go).

When stores experience loss, the store must drive up the price on products in order to make the same profit (supply & demand -- the less of something, the more valuable it becomes).

And the excuse to keep cost down is one reason there are cameras in liquor stores.  And people out on the floor discretely following you, pretending to be working.

Oh yes, that happens, too.

If you get caught, you will be arrested.  Not fined.  Arrested.

Let us review Point 2.
A.  We'll be watching you.
B.  You do not want the police involved.

~Cheers!

Post Script: The image was taken from Wikipedia and is by Tamasflex, who probably is currently unaware that it is being used by Cheers POS (and thus, is not an endorsement of Cheers POS).

Updates to Cheers POS

1.  We have updated our website (more to see, more options to click!), https://www.cheerspos.com/
2.  We are in contact with some people with whom we are looking to partner.
3.  We have ordered new products to test out with our system.
4.  We are working on our, "About Us," page.
5.  We are setting things up so that, if you have Cheers POS, you will never have to worry about not having our solution.

Which Booze to Choose?

Yesterday, a customer came in to the liquor store next door to Cheers POS.  He was given $120.00 by his boss to spend on anything for any one of his co-workers at an office holiday party this Saturday.

He chose to buy a nice bourbon.

The saleswoman tried to help him get something appropriate and so she chose a bourbon from behind the glass case.  $430.00.  Clearly out of his price range.

She also tried to interest him in Chartreuse so he would not have so much money to spend on something else (he wanted to splurge since this was a gift.  He was thinking a bottle of bourbon and maybe a box of chocolates.  He wanted to buy a treat, not liquor for a year, meaning, nothing over 1L).

He had not even considered wine.

He did buy a bourbon for around $60.00.

Question: What alcohol do you suggest as a gift?  This is a difficult question as people are different, but, as a gift, what do you recommend splurging on as a treat for somebody else?

*Image taken from http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/health/supermarkets-accused-of-exploiting-loopholes-to-undermine-1114101  Nobody here at Cheers POS read the article, but, we felt the need to link to it, should the image attached to this post have copyright ownership associated with it.  It is a very eye-catching picture.

Cheers POS -- Now with Texting!!

We're back!

We're hoping you had a great, happy, fun-filled, and glorious Thanksgiving.

We had a few days off, but, that doesn't mean we stopped working!  Just for you, we have added texting to our point of sale system!!  You can now keep in touch with your customers and alert them to any promotions your store may be having at any time!!

If you happen to follow us (or stalk us) on Pinterest, we have a new category of recipes we are pinning -- low carb.

We know it may be...odd...that, after a fortnight of advertising cocktails, we are now on the low-carb bandwagon, but, our secretary has decided to do this for the next 25 days (until Christmas).  This means no alcohol as well.

BUT, that does not mean she will stop posting yummy Christmas and winter cocktails, or recipes for that matter (she has found one for, "Grinch Popcorn," with candy covered chocolates & marshmallows), but, she has also added these as another option.

Just in case you were wondering.

We will keep you up to date with all our latest & greatest about our point of sales system, also.

~Cheers!

Day Before T-Day

Hey All!!

Are you ready?  Are you gearing up for today AND tomorrow?!!!  Whether you are a retail liquor store owner or manager expecting the crowds today or you are starting (or continuing) your cooking marathon today (or both -- manager/owner who is preparing food today), we know you are busy.

We will make this short.

We want to mention that we found out the way to ring up one sale between two debit/credit cards last night (the Cheers POS System is capable of this, but, it has never come up before).  If you have Cheers POS, rest assured this is an ability the technology has.  If you have POS, we will show and/or tell you how to do this.

Two different themes today:
1.  No Bake Desserts -- http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/11/25/easy-no-bake-desserts-for-thanksgiving/
2.  How To Cut Calories on Thanksgiving -- http://www.foxnews.com/health/2015/11/25/6-tips-for-cutting-calories-this-thanksgiving.html

Drink:

We suggest you start this today, if you can.

We wish all of our followers a Safe, Fun, & Happy Thanksgiving.

Enjoy The Parade!!

Appetizers & Thanksgiving Hacks

Hey All!!

We are still working so hard and having lots of new and exciting developments here at Cheers POS!! As things become more solidly tangible, we will keep you informed! We want to include you in on all the news, but, we do not want to count our chickens before they hatch.
Speaking about poultry...

TURKEY DAY IS LESS THAN 37 HOURS AWAY (Central Time)!!!

You may be busy preparing today. You may not have time to read a lot today, but, since you scheduled time in your day to stop by here at Cheers POS' Blogger account, we will share what we found: two appetizers and a Thanksgiving Hack Video.

We include the straight up links just in case you want to go there yourselves, or check what they used to be (if they ever become broken), rather than just incorporate them into the titles.

1. http://www.food.com/recipe/zippy-sausage-spread-39492
INGREDIENTS
(Yields 3 cups)
1 lb bulk Italian sausage
1 (10 ounce) candiced tomatoes and green chilies, drained
8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
DIRECTIONS
Cook and stir sausage until no longer pink, drain.
Stir in tomatoes and cream cheese.
Cook and stir until cheese is melted.
Serve warm.

2. http://www.food.com/recipe/thanksgiving-turkey-veggie-tray-267386
INGREDIENTS
(Yields 20 Servings)
2 green peppers, sliced in thin strips
1 lb baby carrots
1 (16 ounce) bag celery, cut in short strips
1 (32 ounce) jar baby dill pickles
1 (16 ounce) jar green olives
1 (16 ounce) can black olives
1 pint grape tomatoes
1 pint vegetable dip
DIRECTIONS
Put the container of veggie dip on the bottom of the tray. This will be the head.
Arrange the green pepper strips along the outer edge of the serving tray, but don't cover the bottom.
Then add each layer of veggies, overlapping the previous layer. Don't cover the bottom of the tray. These first layers of veggies are supposed to look like the turkey's back feathers. Carrots, then celery, then baby pickles.
Put the tomatoes on one side of the dip, and a few on the top of the dip. Then arrange the olives to be the rest of the turkey neck.
Put a few pimentos from the olives on the dip to look like eyes. I used a piece of green olive to look like the beak.

Monday Before Thanksgiving -- NOW ON iOS!!!

Hey All!!

Happy Monday Before Thanksgiving!

Down to Business -- Cheers POS is testing out the point of sale system with the iOS, meaning, soon, if not already, Cheers POS will NOT be only a Window based software!  We were able to test Cheers POS on a Mac Book today and it worked!

We are working on our Cheers POS, "About Us," page.  We will let you know when this information is on the Cheers POS website.

Cheers POS gives you the option to run discounts on select items for as long as you want.  If you have Cheers POS, you can run a Black Friday through Cyber Monday Special.

We want you to have a good, protein-laden breakfast on Thanksgiving.  We found the following: Egg In A Hole Sandwich With Bacon and Cheddar on http://www.bonappetit.com/

And...to go with the good breakfast, a good drink!  From the Fulton's Harvest Website (http://fultonsharvest.com/recipes.php), check out the, "Autumn Sunrise," drink.

BUY YOUR ALCOHOL NOOOOWWWWW!!!

Hey All!!

If you are going to buy your Thanksgiving alcohol: DO IT NOW!!!  The sooner, the better!  The liquor store next to us was busier than usual last night; it was easy to get slammed at the cash register.

Buy it now, if you can.  Buy it now, before Friday evening, definitely before Saturday, AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS SPIRITS AND ALES, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2015 IF POSSIBLE!!!!

Just...just make your purchase now if you can.

If you are in Kansas, remember: NO LIQUOR STORE WILL BE OPEN ON THANKSGIVING DAY.

Speaking of Thanksgiving Day, who wants recipes?

Today, we have two turkey recipes and two vegetable recipes (food), and an Apple Pie Punch that can be made with or without alcohol; something to serve at both the Adult's and Kid's Table: http://www.thecookierookie.com/apple-pie-punch/

ONE WEEK -- 100+ Recipes!!!

Hi All in Google-Land!!

THANKSGIVING IS ONE WEEK AWAY!!!!

Garlic-Aioli Roasted Turkey with Lemon-Parsley Au Jus / Photo by Tara Donne, Prop Styling by Alex Brannian, Food Styling by Cyd McDowell

Do you know what you are doing?  Do you have a plan?  Do you have your Cheers POS System to ring up sales at your liquor store the day before and on Black Friday?  If you are a patron, have you talked to your neighborhood liquor store regarding getting the Cheers POS System?

Yes, we'll stop.

Thanksgiving.  In 168 - 180 hours, you and all your loved ones (and/or family) will be committing heinous amounts of gluttony, gorging yourself on food that only comes around this time of year, marking the few days that acceptingly blurs the lines between Spiced Pumpkin season and Peppermint Chocolate season.

Let Cheers POS help you with that!!

Today, included in this post, with NO cost to you, is the following link: http://www.epicurious.com/holidays-events/best-thanksgiving-recipes-package  On this page, find OVER 100 RECIPES for Thanksgiving (we were impressed with 20 turkey recipes alone).  Sides and desserts are included, BUT, we were impressed with the 9 cocktails included.  No, that's not a lot of cocktails, all things considered, and, true, we have not checked them out, BUT, we enjoyed very much that we were able to find food and drink recipes all through this one link.

We hope you enjoy this as well.

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving

Hey All!!

Thanks for following!!

Exciting news -- Cheers POS has made another sale and another customer!!

We are just over ONE WEEK AWAY FROM THANKSGIVING!!

Support your local liquor store -- stock up early.

Hmmm...Odd those two paragraphs like that.  I am sure that those are completely separate ideas.  Not meant to be read together.  Not meant to be read together at all.

Anyway, in regular retail, it is an, "all hands on deck," situation for Black Friday; that's not how it works in liquor retail.  Liquor Retail requires EVERYBODY to be on board the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.  That's how it is going to be at the liquor store next to us.  To sum up: when you go to your neighborhood liquor store on Wednesday, BE PATIENT.  You may have to deal with holiday-level crowds of people.  You may have to deal with long lines.  You may (and this is VERY important to remember) have to deal with a lot more workers out on the floor -- with this many people in a store, some may think it easy for the workers to be distracted and not notice if one takes advantage of a, "Buy One Get One Free," promotion...that the store is not offering.

Be warned.

Not only will there be people out on the floor, there will be somebody in the back monitoring the camera.

AND, no matter how busy it is, liquor store workers have been trained to check identification.  Do not think the long lines will make liquor store workers skip this.  It is between $1,000 - $5,000 dollars for the business AND the worker who sells to an underage person (at least it is in the state of KS, it may be different in other states).  Do not think that a liquor store worker will forget this.

Please, everybody, be patient should you go to a liquor store the Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving.

All that being said, we have posted on Facebook and G+ today; please check out those posts as well as what we have pinned on Pinterest!!

~Cheers!!

Countdown: One Day, Two Weeks

Hey All!!

Good Gloomy Tuesday Morning to you all!!!

It's grey and somewhere between wet & damp outside (it's stopped raining, but, there are puddles).  It is going to cool down after today here in Kansas.

There are A LOT of links we want you to check out (since there's no reason to go outside).

First, https://www.cheerspos.com/  The website that allows us to post on Blogger.  It has changed since we first began.  It has changed A LOT (there are those words again!).  Perhaps it has changed since you first saw it.  Take a look at it.  Everything is on one page so that you do not get lost -- no other tabs open.  If you need a point of sales system for your liquor store business, give us a holla.

Second, Thanksgiving is one week and two days away.  For this reason, one would think we would be posting A LOT (THREE!) more drink recipes, but, no...well, maybe the closer we get to the holiday...and then after that.  Today we are posting two food recipes, two food hacks, the vodka pie-crust recipe, and an article dismissing the vodka pie-crust recipe (that is, the article states it's not about the vodka but how the pie crust is prepared).  The last article gives a recipe for a White Russian.

BUT, that is not the drink recipe for the day.  The drink recipe for the day is a Pumpkin Butter Martini.  Pumpkin vodka, butterscotch schnapps, and apple cider (https://www.thecocktailproject.com/drink-recipes/pumpkin-butter-martini)!!  Please click the link for the measurements of these ingredients).

Tasting & Thanksgiving!!

Hey All!!

Happy Friday the 13th. Yes, it has been one of, "those days," but, not as bad as it could be...

Our secretary has been busy doing secretarial things today. Our new sales guy has been busy by learning what he can to provide a better point of sales service for you. The boss has been busy as he has been away on business.

Cheers POS -- We just can't wait!

Remember, if you are in or near Saint Marys, KS at any time this afternoon, until 22:00 local time, there is an alcohol tasting at Rada's Cellar Wine & Spirits. Come for the booze, stay for the booze.

Thanksgiving is LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY!! Cheers POS is continuing with our theme of drink recipes and food recipes (we decided to bring you the bird today -- four turkey recipes, because it's getting close to Thanksgiving (LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY!!).

Sampling, Ziploc, & Drink

Hey All!!

Just like the title says, today's post will be about a sampling in Saint Marys, KS, a recipe from Ziploc, and today's Thanksgiving drink (THANKSGIVING IS TWO (2) WEEKS AWAY FROM TODAY!!!!!)

1. If you are in or near the Saint Marys, KS area tomorrow anytime between Noon and 10:00 p.m., stop by Rada's Cellar Wine & Spirits for a free sampling of Peligroso and some other products (Triple Crown Whiskey, James E. Pepper 1776 Bourbon, Fireshine, keke, and 360 Double Chocolate Vodka). We also have new products on display.  They are pretty to look at, but, will NOT be available for sampling tomorrow.  Please see the other photographs.

2.  Today's recipe is an easy dessert if you want to save some calories (I am NOT claiming this is healthy, I am just saying this may possibly be more nutritious than a slice of apple pie).  It is from Ziploc; a three (really 4) ingredient Stuffed Apple Crisp.

3.  Today's Thanksgiving (Fall) Drink has more steps and ingredients than the dessert in Number 2 above!  It is a Cranberry Ginger Fizz Cocktail.  It is made with gin.  We do not vouch for this recipe, we just post that it exists.  If it interests anybody, all the better!!  (We are not all big gin fans here at Cheers POS).  http://www.creative-culinary.com/cranberry-ginger-fizz-cocktail/

Thanksgiving Day Hacks

Hi All!!

Happy Veterans Day!  We hope you all are reflecting on how fortunate we all are that we have the freedoms we do due to our veterans this day.

Speaking about being fortunate, what about being thankful?  Thanksgiving is two weeks and one day away.  We found the following on Pinterest and thought it was VERY clever.  We wish to share the following with all of you: http://www.buzzfeed.com/emofly/win-thanksgiving#.yd5ym6lKv

We found the following on dekuyperusa.com.  It is an Apple Cider Float.  It has bourbon and schnapps as well as apple cider and ice-cream.  http://www.dekuyperusa.com/recipe/apple-cider-float

We here at Cheers POS hope you find these engaging and enticing (if not helpful)!

Casserole, Fall Drink, & Hacienda Vieja

Hey All!!

http://members.tripod.com/bigred_10/COOKBOOK-2/potato_cassarole.html

There are a few things we here at Cheers POS would like to share with you today.

1. Please see the link above for, "Aunt Margie's Potato cassarole," in case you do not know what to bring for Thanksgiving dinner. There are a few versions of this recipe out online, but, we share this one. We also will provide a tip: top with corn flakes.

2. The fall drink for today is a punch. It requires bourbon, brewed tea, and Champagne. https://www.thecocktailproject.com/drink-recipes/fancy-bourbon-punch

3. Went to Tapatio Mexican Grill yesterday in Kansas City, KS. Had a margarita. The margarita was made with Hacienda Vieja Tequila. It was smooth. Please purchase Hacienda Vieja Tequila (http://www.tequilahaciendavieja.com/) at your neighborhood liquor store and patronize Tapatio if you are in KC, KS (http://www.tapatiokc.com/).

English Harvest

Hi All!!

Busy day here at Cheers POS!!  We are providing customer service and we have hired a new Cheers POS Specialist!!

We are also looking forward to Thanksgiving (our secretary has already been conscripted to make potatoes -- Auntie Margie's Potato Casserole is what she has chosen).

Since Cheers POS is a point of sales system for liquor stores, let us help you with what libations have a fall theme and/or will work well with Thanksgiving dinner.  Today, we start with, "English Harvest."  It is a gin-based drink (with apple brandy and dry vermouth as well), mixed with apple juice and more.  It looks good.

If anybody tries it, please let us know.  If we try it, we will let you know.  http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/english-harvest-cocktails-2011

Sales

Hey All!!

We will get back to posting Pinterest alcohol things shortly...okay, maybe tomorrow, but, today, we are going with a business and marketing post.

Cheers POS is a point of sales system that (essentially) sells itself (it is truly innovative for the liquor store business).

Since Cheers POS (practically) sells itself, we here at Cheers POS were wondering, what engages you in a sale? What is it that a salesperson does that gets you excited to see a demo or engage this person? What can he or she do that would make you look forward to being a prospective customer?

Alternately, what is it that you do not like about sales, that is, what puts you off when a salesperson walks in or when you get a sales call?

Would you prefer information or would you prefer time to think?
Does it make you suspicious or nervous if a salesperson is too pushy and really driven to make a sale?
Are you polite and passive when it comes to listening to sales pitches or do you tell the salesperson you do not have time or are not interested?
Would you like a hands on approach and have a trial period before you commit?

Please let us know (these questions needn't be answered if you have something else to say about the main inquiry of this post)!!

We have been looking over previous sales examples and thinking of being on the pitch-end of a sale, which prompt us to ask the above.  We know what we like, but, we are not everybody.

Here is a link about how to be a successful salesperson. We particularly liked Number 7 of, "7 Steps of the Sales Process," "Always treat prospects like buyers," from, "12 Commandments for Closing a Sale," and, "DON'T be unprofessional," from, "7 Negotiation Don'ts".  http://www.professionalacademy.com/blogs-and-advice/sales-techniques-infographic-blog
For some reason, this link does not work as a clickable link.  Please highlight and copy & paste it into your address bar.

Celebrities Alcohol Brands

Hey All!!

We have a lot to do today here at Cheers POS and the day for us is almost over [at least at work]

Therefore, since we cannot goof off research things good for business on Pinterest today, we are going to let the links do the work for us.

Celebrities (and that term is used loosely) who have their own alcohol brands. http://abcnews.go.com/…/justin-timberlake-ex…/image-19831811  We are not endorsing or advocating any of these products (or, "celebrities"), but, posting this as an informational piece, should you want to support (or avoid) any of these.

We were surprised to not see Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Tequila. Further research shows that he sold some of this business and does not own it exclusively anymore. http://www.flask.com/sammy-hagar-sold-cabo-wabo-tequila-f…/…

Both of these articles appear undated.

EMV Mandate

Hey All!

UPDATE: We know we said below to do an online search if you would like to know more. The following links will not be the first selected among all the results, but, we thought to include them because we like them so much:

http://paylinedata.com/credit-card-processing-solutions/accept-credit-cards-in-store/emv-terminal/

http://paylinedata.com/credit-card-processing-solutions/accept-credit-cards-in-store/emv-terminal/faq/

Thank you, Payline Data for all your help!!

Original post below.

SOMETIMES, here at Cheers POS, we do actually have to work (and by, "work," we mean, "sit in front of a computer looking at non-Pinterest Internet").

Yesterday our secretary found out about the EMV Liability Shift/EMV Compliance Mandate. All businesses, owners, managers, banks, and credit unions are more than likely aware of this by now (seeing as how the mandated switch happened October 1, 2015): all (ALL!) credit and debit cards made from herein-out MUST have a small computer chip inside of them to mitigate financial fraud. If they do not, either the bank or the business that processes a transaction with the card will be held liable if the card was used fraudulently.

Why is this happening? It has to do with the initials, "EMV," which stand for, "Europay, MasterCard, [&] Visa". These are the big three plastic cards around the world that had the computer chip in them before it was mandated. Making the computer chip in cards mandatory, or businesses and banks face the consequences, provides a global solution to the calamity of fraud.

If you would like to find out more, please do an Internet search on, "EMV Mandate," or, "EMV Liability Shift."

One final note, included is a screenshot (via the technology ofhttp://icecreamapps.com/ "Screen Recorder") of sample EMV cards. All EMV cards currently have a, "gold [or silver] computer chip," icon on the front of them to show they are EMV.

SKU vs. UPC

Hey All!

A short educational post to start your week.

Have you ever wondered what the difference between a UPC and an SKU is? For more information, click on the link, but, in short, "...SKUs are typically eight alpha-numeric digits, while UPCs are 12 digits, numeric only. ...SKUs are for internal use, and UPCs are for external, or universal, use."  http://blog.barcoding.com/2010/01/upc-vs-sku/

And now you know!!

We also want to share some fun, easy, Halloween food with your (also found on Pinterest).

Halloween Post

Hey All!!

Happy Halloween!! Look at the happy pumpkin! He is a cheerful Jack-O-Lantern! (By the way, Cheers POS would like to endorse https://openclipart.org since we have been getting a lot of the images from there.)

Our Secretary tried the Blue Chair Bay Banana Rum Cream yesterday.  One thing to note, that awesome yellow color -- is the bottle, not necessarily the drink (our secretary did not pour the 50 mL bottle she bought in a cup, but rather, drank it straight from the bottle).  Have you ever had one of those weeks?

Things have been good, but, busy.
